Westminster, MD, Thursday, June 11, 2020 – Today in Open Session, the Carroll County Board of Commissioners supported State of Maryland Governor Larry Hogan’s new Executive Order to expand Stage Two of the ‘Maryland Strong: Roadmap to Recovery,’ which includes opening additional businesses, providing they open in accordance with appropriate state guidelines.  Reopenings effective 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020 include indoor dining and outdoor amusements. Reopenings effective 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2020 include indoor fitness activities and casinos, arcades and malls.

The commissioners also approved a plan to gradually provide in-person services for the public at county facilities, beginning Friday, June 12, 2020. In-person services will be appointment only to start and best practices on physical distancing and other protective measures will be followed. A separate press release will outline this plan.

These are unprecedented times and COVID-19 is a rapidly changing situation. In taking this measure, the county is following the lead of the state leadership as well as state and local health officials. As this situation evolves, the county will continue to evaluate and assess its operations and make changes as needed.
