Three Citizens Needed for New Emergency Services Advisory Council
Westminster, MD, Thursday, August 20, 2020 – The Carroll County Commissioners are soliciting applications from Carroll County citizens interested in serving on the newly established Carroll County Emergency Services Advisory Council (ESAC). The council bylaws require the appointment of three citizens, independent of the fire system.
The purpose of the council is to provide a functional management structure that ensures that input from volunteer, career and citizen stakeholders is provided and considered during the policy making and policy review process. The council is comprised of eleven (11) voting members including three (3) citizens that are primary residents of Carroll County, Maryland who do not have active affiliation with any Fire, Rescue and EMS Service in any way and do not have any fire service family members. ESAC bylaws are available on request.
The council will meet once a month with representatives serving three-year terms. Terms will be staggered initially so all terms do not expire in the same year.
Citizen input is critical to the success of this new council and Carroll County Government needs residents’ skills, enthusiasm and fresh ideas for this new initiative.
Residents can apply online at https://www.carrollcountymd.gov/government/boards-commissions/ or contact the Boards & Commissions Coordinator at volunteerboards@carrollcountymd.gov or 410-386-2043.
