Sykesville, MD, Monday, October 26, 2020 – Be advised that the Carroll County Bureau of Utilities has been made aware of a water main break in the vicinity of 7543 Main Street, between Church Street and Sandosky Road. Water service to the immediate service has been turned off and the extent of the break is being assessed by County staff. Repair work will be undertaken as soon as possible. Further updates will be provided as information becomes available.

System users may experience fluctuation of water pressure throughout the day and cloudy water as service is restored. If this occurs, it is recommended that cold water taps be turned on and that the water be run for several minutes to clear the lines. It is also advised that users refrain from using high water volume appliances such as washing machines, dishwashers, etc., during periods of cloudy water or low pressure.
